1962
Three Star Trucking Ltd. was established in Alida, Saskatchewan
1976
Farmstead Buildings is started by Mel Klinger (later changed the name to Klinger Building Systems), manufacturing metal-claded buildings for farmers in the Lloydminster area. Expanded in manufacturing of self-framed metal buildings and becomes a pre-engineered building distributor.
1978
Pioneer Land Services Ltd. is founded by Ted Anderson, providing surface land services out of Calgary.
1982
Wrapex Industrial Services was founded. Am-Con Insulation Services Ltd. is incorporated to provide industrial insulation and scaffolding services in Sylvan Lake.
1985
Started renting generators and light towers and provided medical services in Fort St. John.
1991
TWT Vegetation Management Ltd. is incorporated to provide vegetation management for oil companies in the Hardisty/Coronation area.
1993
ENdrill Resource Consultants Inc. is incorporated by Len Healy, providing drilling waste & reclamation consulting services out of Calgary.
1999
Young EnergyServe was founded in 1999, and a division of the Young Group of Companies started as a tank cleaning company.
2003
Select Soft Covers opens doors in Edmonton being one of the first industrial insulation blanket manufacturers in Alberta.
2005
Terry Stephenson became President and centralized Head Office to Sherwood Park.
2006
Started Westland Energy Services Ltd., a provider of well-site accommodation rentals.
2007
Acquired Excel Insulation, a provider of industrial insulation services with locations in Lloydminster, Edmonton, and Irma. Construction Division starts a Projects Group in Sherwood Park to handle large insulation buildings and scaffolding projects and is awarded the first large project in an Edmonton mod yard.
2008
Merged Select Soft Covers with Key Thermal Inc., carried on under Key Thermal name.
2010
Acquired Pineview Oilfield Services Ltd., a provider of vegetation management services.
2011
Celebrated its 50th Anniversary and is named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies, an honour we have maintained every year until becoming a public company in 2017. Achieved over $100M in revenues with over 700 employees.
2012
Rebranded all operating companies under Vertex Resource Group Ltd. Opened 1st US office in Scottsdale, Arizona concentrating on environmental, geomatics, land consulting, and estimating and drafting for the construction division.
2013
Acquired Absolute Land and Lease Ltd., based out of Calgary. The Acden Vertex Limited Partnership is established for opportunities in the Wood Buffalo Region.
2014
Established Haisla Vertex Joint Venture for opportunities in Kitimat, British Columbia.
Acquired Navus Environmental Inc., an environmental consulting firm of 100 employees based out of Edmonton, Fort McMurray, and Fort St. John. Post-acquisition, we have over 900 employees in Canada and the USA.
2015
Vertex acquired Glacier Ridge Ventures Ltd., Tar Energy Services Ltd., Ignite Energy Services Ltd., Trophy Buck Oilfield Services, and Viro Energy Services.
Combined Fluid Management & Logistic Services with Rental Services to form an Environmental Services Division.
Named a Gold Standard Winner of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.
2016
Acquired Red Giant Energy Services Ltd., specializing in the storage, management, and logistics of oilfield fluids.
2017
Acquired Hurricane Industries Ltd., KinetiChem Corp., Barlon Engineering Group Ltd., and Excel Engineering Ltd.
2018
Vertex acquired HMA Land Services, Sonic Oilfield Services Ltd., TSL Industries, The Hydro-Vac Company, and Three Star Trucking Ltd.
2021
Vertex acquired MAD Oilfield Solutions.
2022
Vertex acquired Cordy Oilfield Services and Young EnergyServe Inc.
