Wildlife Management for Mine Expansion

The client required wildlife management services for the development of a large green field land base for an Energy mine expansion.

(Acden) Vertex was able to provide beaver management services to allow the development of the mine expansion area. This included advising during the planning and execution stages of the site development with regards to the beaver removal and water management through the dam breaching processes. This included running multiple crews in a very large and remote (helicopter access) site, providing innovative solutions for dam removal, and coordinating with construction and other environmental service providers responsible for the fisheries and water quality monitoring components of the development.

Vertex worked collaboratively with the client and other environmental service providers (fisheries) to ensure that beavers were removed from affected water bodies and remove beaver dams to ensure construction operations were in compliance with wildlife and water regulations.
